Support Harwes Farm CIC

Harwes Farm CIC exists so more people can experience the benefits of nature — for learning, wellbeing, belonging, and conservation.
From Forest School days and therapeutic care farming to volunteer sessions and community projects, everything we do is rooted in one simple aim:
to share the natural environment for community benefit.

We’re a not-for-profit on a 57-acre site of ancient woodland and meadows, welcoming visitors since 2016.
Keeping this special place safe, accessible and thriving takes year-round care — and your support helps us open the gates to more schools, families,
community groups and individuals who need it most.

Why Harwes Farm needs your support

Site maintenance and accessibility

Your support helps us keep Harwes Farm safe, welcoming and well cared for — whatever the season brings.

Donations contribute to:

  • Path and woodland ride upkeep so people can explore safely
  • Maintaining our Forest School sites (fire pits, seating, tarps and shelters)
  • Repairs and improvements to facilities like the Community Cabin, toilets and boot room
  • Accessibility upgrades so more people can take part (including those with mobility challenges)

We believe nature should be for everyone. Practical maintenance is what makes that possible.

Educational programmes that inspire

We deliver nature-based learning for all ages — and we know that anything taught indoors can be taught outdoors.

Support helps us:

  • Offer Forest School sessions that build confidence, resilience and practical skills
  • Provide enriching workshops linked to the curriculum and to real-world environmental learning
  • Keep group sizes small enough for quality support (especially for additional needs)
  • Provide resources that make sessions safe and memorable (tools, materials, waterproofs, and the little comforts that help people relax outdoors)

For many children and young people, time at Harwes Farm is where they feel calm, capable and connected.

Community projects and wellbeing

Harwes Farm is a place to breathe, reset, and feel part of something.

Your support helps us run and grow community-focused initiatives such as:

  • Volunteer sessions (tree planting, woodland management and allotment work)
  • Wellbeing activities including woodland wellbeing walks and nature connection sessions
  • Projects that strengthen community ties and reduce isolation
  • Partnerships that widen access for groups who face barriers to taking part

When people join us, the impact is real. In recent wellbeing surveys, 98% of respondents reported improved wellbeing,
and many told us they felt more connected — to nature and to other people.

Animal care and welfare

Our animals are part of the Harwes Farm experience — gentle companions who support calm, confidence and care.

Donations help us provide:

  • Quality feed, bedding and day-to-day care
  • Routine health checks and veterinary costs
  • Safe, clean living spaces and enrichment

Looking after animals properly is non-negotiable — and your support helps us do it well.

How can you support Harwes Farm CIC?

There are lots of meaningful ways to help — whether you give time, funds, skills, or simply help us spread the word.

Make a donation

A one-off or regular donation helps us plan ahead and keep programmes running.

  • £10 can help provide materials for a nature-based activity
  • £25 can help support volunteer tools, gloves and supplies
  • £50 can help contribute to site upkeep and accessibility improvements
  • £100+ can help fund resources for a full day of learning and wellbeing

(We can tailor these examples to match your actual costs and what you most want to fund.)

Sponsor a project or improvement

If you’re a local business, community organisation, or funder, you can help create lasting impact by sponsoring:

  • Woodland ride improvements and tree planting
  • Accessibility upgrades
  • Community Cabin improvements
  • Equipment for Forest School and wellbeing programmes

We’re happy to discuss recognition, volunteering opportunities, and how your support aligns with CSR/ESG goals.

Volunteers help us care for the land and grow what’s possible.

You can join:

  • Our regular volunteer sessions (allotment, tree planting, woodland work)

One of the simplest ways to support us is to take part.
